The public relation head for the New York Giants has lashed out at some disgruntled Twitter followers in a series of tweets this week. He was responding to fan complaints over the team's lack of free agency activity this year. His sarcastic responses included some choice language which had to be blurred out in online reposts of the tweets.
The tweets have garnered media criticism for being unprofessional and reactionary, and some have noted that this may not be the best PR strategy to pursue for the team. The tweets have been compared to an Ochocinco style which resorts to name calling in response to criticism. There are other ways to deal with Twitter critics which may be more effective, such as ignoring them. Another strategy would be to retweet the comments in a passive aggressive style where you add in a bon mot to appear intellectually superior.

On a daily basis, media professionals must sort through media requests and press releases, and coordinate with public relations professionals both locally and nationally. There are certain best practices that PR professionals should follow to get their message across to these busy media managers.
First of all, a newsroom does operate on a last-minute basis, so when don't be afraid to follow-up more than once and don't take it personally if your story gets scrapped at the last minute. Also, taking the time to personalize your message by addressing it to the manager in charge will definitely help to get their attention. Make sure that you put the most important details in the body of the email rather than as an attachment, such as your pitch and the event/production details. This sounds simple, but it can make a huge difference in whether or not your release gets the attention it deserves.

Browsing a UK business directory of the leading PR companies is an easy way to find the best public relations solution for your business needs. Besides providing important contact information and a summary of services, many business directories provide other useful information such as guides and advice to help users make decisions about which company to choose.
Business directories make it easy to find the best PR services by bringing together a wealth of information into one convenient site. Because there are many specialties within the PR field, a good directory will break the companies down into different areas such as PR consultants, PR agencies, and PR jobs. This can help you immensely as your public relations requirements may change over time, according to the specific needs of your business. A countrywide directory will also divide companies by service area which makes it easy to search only those which operate in your location.
